THE TRUE STORY
Two brothers leave Fort Pitt during the French and Indian War and disappear into the mountains. For about three years they live inside a hollow sycamore where Turkey Run meets the Buckhannon River. Later, Samuel leads settlers back, and Buckhannon begins.
